This is worth a read

Endurance: Shackleton's lost ship is found in Antarctic

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-en...

I also recommend watching the video of the Endurance which shows it still in incredible condition, and also watching the video of Dan Snow's enthusiastic reaction

Anyone read any?

Any top tips?

Rosina (rosinarowantree) | 411 comments I listened to Endurance Shackleton's Incredible Voyage by Alfred Lansing in 2019, and remember with pleasure Kenneth Branagh in the mini-series on the BBC.

I think we read a book about Shackleton?"

I have a feeling we had read a Shackleton book too. If we did I did not participate though.

Thanks Rosina - incredibly positive reviews for that one

How much did you enjoy it?

Jan C (woeisme) | 1676 comments I read Caroline Alexander's The Endurance: Shackleton's Legendary Antarctic Expedition. I thought it was wonderful.

I thought we read one, too. The only I could find was Frank A. Worsley's Endurance: An Epic of Polar Adventure. But on further checking might it have been Alfred Lansing's Endurance? I couldn't find it because it was on the Kindle.

Very exciting to see the video and the ship's amazing condition. I have also read the Lansing book and remember enjoying the TV series starring Kenneth Branagh, although I've slightly mixed it up in my mind with The Last Place on Earth, the series about Scott starring Martin Shaw, as I watched them both on DVDs around the same time.
