Fairy Tale Retellings! discussion

Hi everyone. This month we will be reading Six Crimson Cranes, retelling of The Six Swan Brothers. Last month's poll was a tie so this month we will be reading Six Crimson Cranes and we will read The Princess of the Glass next month.

Sorry for posting this topic late; I've been busy. I'll extend this book's time for a week into April to make up for loss time. I read this book a while back and thought this was a fun book. But I wasn't really a fan of the inconclusive ending, but I think the author might make it into a series sometime in the future because of the way she ended the book. She wasn't my favorite character, but she was still interesting and spunky. Reading about the world though her eyes was entertaining since I think it would be different from how I would've seen things if I were in her shoes.

What are some of you favorite scenes in the book? Or, if you haven't read it yet, do you want to/plan to?
Who are you rooting for Shiori to end up with?

The cover is gorgeous. Like seriously.

This was my first Six Swans retelling too! And I remember Nerdy Werewolf recommending it. I'm happy to read it since it's a bit different from what I usually read. :)

It's so COOL. I'll have to dive into my notes to see what my favorite scene, (etc) was, but Noonecanshinkmyship is right, there's a sequel coming in August and it has a COVER!

I just found out that there is a sequel coming out for this one later this year!
I need to get this one from the library and start it eventually...
