In Istanbul James Bond and Eve Moneypenny pursue Patrice, who's stolen a hardrive containing details of MI6 agents. As Bond and Patrice fight atop a train, M (MI6 chief) orders Eve to snipe Patrice, Eve shoots but hits Bond who falls into a river and is presumed dead. 3 months later, after an inquiry, M is pressured to resign by Gareth (chairman of ISC). Refusing to resign, M is sent a taunting message before the MI6 building explodes. Alive, Bond hears of the event and returns to London, and fails the tests required to go into the field, but M passes him anyway. After meeting Q (quartermaster (equips him)), Bond follows Patrice but fails to learn his employer's identity before he dies. 007 finds clues that lead him to Macau and meets Patrice's accomplice Severine. They create a plan to kill Severine's employer but are foiled when they are caught. Bond is brought to the employer: Raoul Silva, a former MI6 agent turned evil who blew up the MI6 headquarters. Silva kills Severine but is arrested when MI6 arrives. Q attempts to access Silva's computer but accidentally releases a virus, allowing Silva to escape. After telling Q to create a trail for Silva to follow, Bond and M head to Skyfall, his childhood home. After Silva and his men arrive a massive showdown ensues resulting in the deaths of M and Silva. At M's funeral Eve tells Bond she's resigning from field work while Gareth is appointed as the new "M".
I will give this movie 5/5 for plot, originality, character, design, and music. This was one of my favorites out of the whole series and I was impressed.
