Jane (PS) | 24366 comments 1. Introduce yourself to your team. Let your team members know where you are from. This is a 'nice to know' when categories are announced and when team-mates can expect other members to post their book choices.

2. Lead Rapper - reserve a couple of posts in this thread tracking your team's book selection and completion. (Alternatively they could convert a chat comment to the tracking post/s.)

3. Name your team. Using this round's theme of BTS, come up with a fun name. Given we are an open/public group with no age limit, so please make sure any chosen name is smart, not smutty ;)

Please PM your name to Jane(PS) by 31 March.

4. If you have a private profile, please 'friend' your team-mates. This is really important, because without this, your team-mates can't see your shelves to select a books under option 2. (It will also help with one of the categories in this round!)

5. Please post your book selections/completions in the format provided below. (This format is also posted in both the Q&A and Sign-Up threads.) We need to know the week that each book corresponds to, the page numbers, and how the book qualifies including links to lists/shelves (where applicable), etc. I can't stress this enough. When in doubt - link it*!

* don't link to your review in your completion post - reviews in your completion posts should be included in full in that post.

You don't want to start reading a book and then find it doesn't meet the requirements because some information (eg page count or theme link) was missing from your original post.

I will be monitoring this and your book will not be considered complete until I am satisfied that your selection and completion posts comply with the format rules of the challenge.

Remember - you can ONLY change your book selection in the week that the theme is called.

6. You MUST check in with your team each week, ideally once the theme is announced. Please let your team know if you expect to have spotty communication or are on holidays or having an operation, etc.

7. When you post the completion of your book, you must post a review; enough for us to know you have actually read the book. Please don't link to a review. You must post the review in this thread.

8. Re-reads are allowed but you can't read the same book twice within this challenge.

9. There is no prize for the winning team - bragging rights only :)

10. Each week, the theme will be announced in the Q&A/Announcement thread. The full list of themes announced during this round will be maintained in msg 1 of that thread.

The Rule on the Pass Option
* Each team can only have ONE member using their pass each week.
* Each member can only use that pass once each 5 weeks.
* This means that one or two team members (dependent upon the size of your team) will miss using a pass in each 5 week block.
* No-one can use the pass option in the last week of the challenge.
* In the final week Option 2 has altered and I will be allocating each team another team from which their book selection must be chosen :)

message 3: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24366 comments Key selection and completion post information. You must have ALL elements in your book posts.

For selection post Option 1 you must have:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Page numbers
How the book qualifies - please note which qualifying bookshelf/list you are using or the tags that justifies that it works.
If the theme is based off the bookcover, post the cover. If there is a letter count in the title, publication date etc, please note these details.

For selection post Option 2 you must have:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Page numbers
Name of the team-member, their star rating, the date they read the book.

For selection post Option 3 you must have:
Week #
PASS

For the completion post you must have:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Rating (1-5)
Review

Please DO NOT CHAT in these selction/completion posts. It needs to be super clear.

If you 'waffle' about your decided book - please REPOST your selection once you decide. DO NOT go back and edit your waffling post.

IF YOU NEED TO CORRECT A POST FOR MISSING INFORMATION or because the didn't qualify etc, please REPOST this inforamtion in a NEW post. I don't want to have to keep going backwards in the thread.

Shandrea Freeman | 904 comments Hi team!
My name is Shandrea and I live in Idaho (MST). I am a busy mother of four that works two jobs: managing a small grocery store and substitute teaching and I still find time to read :)

I love this challenge and I have been patiently waiting for it to start up again.

message 9: by Shandrea (new)

Shandrea Freeman | 904 comments I'm going to be honest. I don't know anything about BTS besides some songs I've heard on the radio, in which I had no idea they were even done by BTS. Don't hate me lol

Team name ideas

*Reading in Euphoria - they have a song named Euphoria
*Bulletproof Readers - they have a song called Bulletproof
*The Black Swans - song called Black Swan
*Let Me Read to You 'Cause Talk is Cheap - based on lyrics in the song "Butter" (Let me show you 'cause talk is cheap"

That's all I have so far lol, not very creative sorry lol

My name Lea, I live outside Copenhagen Denmark (CET) with my husband and 2 Kids.

I am really bad with naming things, It even took us forever to find names for our girls 😉 so I open to all suggestions

Sassafrass (sass-a-frass) | 4194 comments Hi there! I'm Sassafrass. I'm from right outside of Philadelphia and am excited to play.

I am now almost exclusively audiobooks because I just don't have a lot of time to sit and read and listening allows me to multitask. I work in healthcare so the last two years have been insane for me. I'm looking forward to playing!

Sassafrass (sass-a-frass) | 4194 comments I have NO idea about BTS so I looked up some of their song titles and came up with:

Blood, Sweat, and Books
Permission to Read.

And because I just can't help it with the boy bad theme and the fact we are team number one: One Directionless

☼♎ Carmen the Bootyshaker Temptress ☼♎ | 2498 comments Hi everybody! So excited to see some familiar names. I'm in NY but not in the city. I'm on the island with 3 out 5 kids and my dog. I just lost my husband a little over a year ago and took a break from reading for awhile. Now I'm trying to get back to it but with also having a new job its taken some time to get adjusted after being a stay at home mom for nearly 10 years.

I'm not grwat with names either but I'm glad to go with whatever you ladies decide 😊

I thought this one was pretty good. Vanessa Vale does a lot of insta-love books that irk me (but for some reason I can't resist) but this one was different. Because we have the true mate situation and the shifter being able to recognize his mate, it makes it easier for me to deal with the instant love in the book.

I liked the story and the town so I think I will continue on with the series at some point!

Lily and Ryland were combustible! You have a brilliant scientist with a monster for a father who did physic experiments on her and other children. Then you have a military captain and his team who underwent the same experiment which improved their physic gifts. Then you have espionage, traitors, killers and you have a book filled with intrigue, sizzling romance, suspense and mystery which makes for an awesome read. I highly recommend this series!

There wasn't anything that was a wow factor in this one but it was cute, sweet, and just hit the right spot for me. It was completely predictable how things were going to go down but I enjoyed it anyway. And I liked the backdrop of baseball with it.

The only thing that was a bit surprising was Frank's revelation. I didn't necessarily see that one coming but I also wasn't really looking for it.

I'm not sure if I will continue with the series on this one but might if I need it for a challenge at some point and the books are free for me.

Review: Paranormal books are way out of my comfort zone. As I seldom read them , I also have a very limited insight into authors that I might enjoy.
That being said when I read PNR I often go for the romcom type of book and this definitely feel into that category
It was a light and humorous read about Mo that moves to Alaska to escape her very meddling hippie parents. In Alaska she meets the very surly werewolf.
This book was an enjoyable read and humorous but not as funny as other Molly Harper books I have read, but it did have a lot of good one liners that made me smile.

This was more women's fiction than romance but the town and characters were interesting. I'm sure I'll continue the series at some point but I'm not too invested in the series at this point.

I wish there had been some resolution with Grace and her story arc but I guess that was part of her progress.

Justine was a surprise and I want to see what happens with her in the future as well.
