For those of you who liked the original Karate Kid movie that came out in the 80’s then you will like this mini-series. The series picks up the stories of the characters in modern day. Show was created by John Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg. The stars are Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, Martin Kove and Xolo Maridueña.
The series has four seasons so far and last about 30 minutes each episode. Daniel La Russo and Johnny Lawrence resumed their lives since 1984. While Danny became a successful car dealership, Johnny has struggled making ends meet. They recently came in contact with one another in the first season and the relationship has been a rollercoaster as they both cannot forgive and move on.
What I like about this show the most is the character growth in Johnny throughout the seasons. They both can use some conflict management skills but they are trying to be positive influences to their children and other teenagers who are learning the discipline of Karate. John Kreese is still trying to stir up trouble so the dynamics between these characters gives the show a four out of five stars.
