The ghost of Miss Barrie said she “must find the boys.” I wonder if she knew someone was after Rune that night or whether she just wanted to protect them.

So many questions about Ciaran. Where is his compound? Was it translocated, and if so what historic building is it? How big is the dressing wing? How many eighties outfits does he actually own?

I really hope we see more of Kellum Greenwater in the future.

He is fast becoming my favorite. He's like a fashionista mafioso. Perfectly turned out and utterly in control---or else!

@Moxi it's possible Mrs. Barrie was just saw people attacking the estate and wanted to protect Brand and Rune, but I can't help but think that maybe she knew more. What If Rune's dad was doing something or knew something that Mrs. Barrie knew about also, so the moment it started, protecting them was her goal.

The scene with Mrs. Barrie just made me even more interested to know what happened that night. Not just with Rune, but with the rest of the fall. How long did it take for them to take down Rune's dad? How did they do so without him being able to alert anyone?

I want to know Ciaran's aspect and what he means by it being "too on the nose"

Are we one day going to find out Ciaran actually has a claim to one of the empty/defunct Arcana Thrones?

I mean, he trained at Magnus under an alias. What is his backstory?!

You know who would make a good seneschal for Rune? Aunt Diana. She'd be good at helping Brand coral Rune into doing his duties.

The button is back. I so badly want to know the secrets of it, but I equally want it to be the deus ex machina of the last book in the series that fixes the final big problem, whether that's because it's magic or because Rune flicks it as someone to cause a distraction.

I wonder if we'll ever find out what was on the old Roman galleon in the dead docks with the power to send shivers up Rune's spine.

Corbie is adorable and should be protected at all costs. Also, I think Lord Tower is more than halfway to adopting Corbie as his grandson.

I'm extremely sure that we will. KD doesn't seem to put ANY details in that won't be relevant later. So far everything ever mentioned has had a purpose.

All of this. MAYBE Mrs. Barrie was just a wonderful person who wanted to protect the kids Just Because, but I'm leaning toward her being wonderful AND knowing Something Was Going On.

And I desperately want to know how the HELL they took down Lord Sun. I mean. There must have been Arcana or Principalities involved, probably multiple ones, because who else would have the power required to subdue and kill him and, as you say, prevent any sound/warning getting out?

I wonder if it's linked to one of the old translations for corduroy as corde du roi, French for 'cloth of the king.' (I knew all that $ at FIT would come in handy some day.)

There's a thought! Did the button belong to his dad? Or maybe the Emperor? Hmm.

@F @Meghan I think that's a pretty good argument that the button might have something to do with the Emperor - the whole corde du roi thing!

Although I'll laugh if it's not magical at all and just came from one of his suits or something!
