The world is divided between mutants and humans. The mutants were once humans, but after being kicked of the planet and spending a massive amount of time off earth, they mutated to where they could live in space. Humans refer to them as "ghosts or just "freaks". A human named Kyler wants to go the upcoming Fasti Sun Festival, but his parents won’t let him which causes him to steal the family's spaceship and attempting to reach the event. On the way to the festival, he meets an interesting character named Fig, who is wanderer. We learn that her parents died 2 years prior, and after escaping her abusive adoptive family she got a job where she destroys asteroids for a living. Upon entering a pub, she finds her bosses forming a plan to destroy a star with Dark Matter (illegal stuff). She offers to do the job and does it successfully, which earns her money of which she buys a one-way ticket to Fasti and a blaster. She runs into pirates and is chased by them profusely. Kyler offers her a ride and she joins him. During the journey they escape pirates but are followed by them all the way to Fasti. During the journey, they learn that someone has stolen the Fasti star. They take it upon themselves to find the star, stop the whoever is behind the act, and save the Original Planet (earth).
I will give this book 4/5 for plot, characters, and originality. This is an interesting read for young teens and I would recommend this to fellow readers.
