Play Book Tag discussion

I wanted to escape into a page turner and, assured by someone that Billy Summers was not horror, I picked it up. King got me hooked from the beginning and delivered multidimensional characters living lives far, far different from mine. The pace was good and I raced along, except for flashbacks (delivered by a novel-writing protagonist) to his days in Fallujah during the Iraq war. These sections I could definitely have done without. I guess they were supposed to help us understand more about Billy but I don’t think they were necessary. I skated along the surface them and don’t think I missed anything important. I’d have rounded up instead of down if they weren’t there, but all in all it was pretty good escape for me.
