I'm from the USA. Some of our greats in my opinion are Stephen King, Edgar Allan Poe and Maya Angelou.
I'm from the US, Montana more specifically. Montana doesn't have many famous authors, I would guess that Ivan Doig is the most famous. I haven't read any of his but I know that he is a local author.
I live in Delaware, USA. I like that people were sharing famous authors from their state... so I looked my state up. The authors listed I had never heard of...we are a tiny state. So I'll just list a few of my favorite authors, I have so many, from the US, that I am currently listening to/reading...Davis Bunn, Karen Kingsbury, Marissa Meyer, Sarah Sundin, and Jan Karon.
I live in Illinois, and some famous authors from there are Carl Sandburg, Ernest Hemingway and Ray Bradbury.
Greetings from Türkiye (Turkey). Some of our most famous authors are Sait Faik Abasıyanık, Sabahattin Ali, Elif Şafak, Halil İnalcık, İlber Ortaylı, Orhan Pamuk.
Hey Liz and Lindsay! I'm also from Canada. At our school, we have something called Forest of Reading that celebrates Canadian authors. Some of the students' favourites are Gordan Korman & Eric Walters. For this week I choose prompt 19- A book that has an alternate title with the novel The people we meet on vacation.

Chile Isabel Allende, Pablo Neruda, Gabriela Mistral, and a long list of contemporary Chilean writers.
Latinoamérica in general honors books and writers, and in literature, nonfiction, poetry and drama all mine the richness of the Spanish language.
¡Saludos!
I was born in New Jersey, USA, from whence comes Harlan Coben. I'm currently residing in North Carolina, USA. Such writers as Kathy Reichs, Patricia Cornwell, Nicholas Sparks, and David Sedaris are from here.
