What about the stories of the early 20th century artist's who toiled, literally, in the fields and introduced scores of Americans to fine art, not in museums, but in their homes. Frank Townsend Hutchens' story is representative and gives a glimpse of a life of development by studying with European Masters and bringing a piece of the movement to America. Are there other American impressionists who have gone in anonymity who should be rediscovered?
