Kathleen Ravenel was married to Theo for only three days before he was killed in the accident involving her horse Asad. Did you have early suspicions that all was not well with their short-lived marriage before she revealed the details?

I suspected it but mainly because she was obviously going to be Devon's intended at some point and it would not do for her to have really loved Theo first. These books always follow the rules!

Yes, I was pretty sure that there was trouble with the newlyweds, and I was pretty sure the trouble was of a conjugal nature.

I figured there had to be some kind of trouble brewing between Theo and Kathleen before he was killed. I just wasn't sure what exactly the situation was with only 3 days of marriage.

I agree with all of you. I expected trouble in their short marriage.

At first meeting, I just didn’t sense a lot of grief over Theo so I immediately was on the lookout for what might have been amiss. I even considered that the two of them had never consummated their marriage but that was low on my speculation meter.

Since Theo's death had happened so recently and I knew she would ultimately be with Devon, I assumed there was a problem with her marriage and suspected that they might not have consummated the marriage.

I figured the formula of romances in general would have ensured Kathleen wasn't emotionally attached to Theo to open the door for her to love Devon. So I knew something was amiss with their short marriage. I honestly didn't speculate any further to figuring out what was wrong.
