Storytellers discussion

This is where the role play will begin. We’ll give it twenty-four hours for anyone who might be interested in joining to post in the appropriate topic, and then allow everyone to make their way here. Then… We start. :)

Luxu walked down the dark streets. It was still early in the morning but decently warm, but still early enough that there weren’t many people out and about. He had decided to emerge into the ‘outside’ as he had been inside in the dark for so long he was as white as a ghost.

He heads into an empty side street. Stopping to loosen out his wings before then using them to carry himself onto the top of a decently tall building with a flat roof.

Sitting down on the cold concrete he pulls out a book, deciding to catch up on it as it had been a while since he had a chance to read it. Sitting crisscross near the side of the roof he flips through the book until he finds where he left off.

Cera crept through the streets, her head held low and her hands in the pockets of her black hoodie. The hood was pulled up to cover her ivory hair, which would call attention to her if she left it uncovered.

She glanced up, scanning the ground for unusual shadows, which would indicate the presence of any other people. When she saw the outline of someone sitting on a roof, she froze in her tracks, fear swamping her.

They're coming for me...

Kyra pulled her red leather jacket closer as she walked down the street on her way to meet someone. She still hadn’t been able to find her brother but apparently this person had met him recently. Of course a bunch of people said that but most hadn’t. Kyra didn’t even know if he was alive.

She sighed. It was better to think the worst and not be disappointed when the truth came out. Lyra got along just fine on her own but she missed Kallas just the same.

Just then a girl stopped suddenly drawing Kyras attention. She couldn’t look more suspicious in a black hoodie covering her face in shadow.

Luxu heard something down below him. Swiftly sliding his bookmark in place and shutting the book and leaned forward and peered down into the previously empty street.

There were two other people down there now. One was in a black hoodie and was frozen, staring up at him. The other was in a red jacket and seemed to be following the first. He turned back to the black hooded one.

She was still staring at him so he raised his hand awkwardly and sent her a small wave. Unconsciously he registered the sound of birds chirping as the world started to wake up.

Kyra the noticed what, or rather who, the girl was looking at. Someone was sitting on the roof of a nearby building. A boy, she decided, although it was a bit hard to tell in the predawn morning light and from this distance. The girl on the ground hadn’t noticed her but the boy on the roof had to have spotted her. Kyra wondered if she should leave and go a different way just to be safe.

((figured i’d pick this back up since it’s been a long time))

Cera was still frozen in terror. Her thoughts were racing, and she pulled herself out of her daze, pulling a trigger in her brain that switched her from freeze to fight. Flight would come later, when she had to go underground again.

A flash of color to her right caught and captured her attention, pulling her gaze away from the boy on the roof when he waved. It was a pity she had missed that small gesture, because it may have prevented her doing what she did next.

Caught up in the adrenaline surging through her, she lashed out at the girl on the ground sure that they meant to surround her, to catch her and take her back to whatever hell awaited her. Escapees never stayed free for long- and what happened to them when they were dragged back to that horrible place was a warning to others not to leave.

Throwing herself to the side, she spun, lifting her right hand. Eyes beginning to glow a soft silver, she manipulated the emotions of the other girl, filling her with gut-wrenching sorrow, then hate. These emotions would feel off to her, because they were pulled from Cera's own sorrow, her own hate, but they should do their job.

Then, believing the girl to be incapacitated, she looked back up at the boy, eyes narrowed. Raising her other hand, she sent him a sudden wave of terror, pulling it from the terror running through her veins. Again, both of them would likely fight the foreign emotions, but only people of immense mental and emotional strength could fight them off entirely, so the distraction should provide Cera with enough time to disappear.

She spun on the ball of her foot, racing towards the wall on the other side of the street, and leaping- using cracks in the brick to pull herself up the side of the building.

Luxu flinched as something like a strong wind felt as though it slammed into his face. Strong negative emotions started forming in his head and he shook it. He had saw the girls eyes realized these emotion weren’t normal.

He quickly popped the lid of a small potion he had made and took a small sip. It was made for calming someone who was in shock but it would also work for numbing the overwhelming emotions starting to brew.

He shook his head again and saw the girl running away, he threw his book in his bag and jump off the building using his wings to his fall. He went to the girl first he had saw the first girl turn her powers on this second.
“You alright?” He asked, wonder how badly the emotions had effected her.

He wanted to see if she wanted some of his potion before heading off to check on the other girl. Maybe she’d also like some since she had been acting so wild.

Kyra had almost doubled over when the sorrow and hate had hit her, they felt different than her own but close enough to the same, but what had gotten her was the intensity of them.

She nodded when the winged boy spoke but didn’t quite register his words for a second. “Yeah, I’ll be fine.” Whatever the girl had done was starting fade and Kyra’s mind was already spinning with plans on what to do now.

“Any idea who she is?” Kyra asked. Maybe this boy knew her but she doubted it since the girl had attacked him too.

“No…” He trailed off. Something had been off with her. neither of them looked particularly threatening so she must have had some reason. Or at least that’s what he assumed.

“I’m intrigued now though so… see you later?” He waves, walking toward the direction of where the girl disappeared.

(Urg it’s so short..)

“Wait up! I’m coming with you,” she called hurrying to catch up. “I’m rather… intrigued now too. She probably has a reason for attacking us and I want to know why.”

Kyra wasn’t sure if this boy would let her ‘tag along’ so to speak, but she needed to know why the girl had lashed out then ran off. Somehow it felt important. Besides it would be better to go into this with an ally if only a tentative one since she wasn’t sure how useful her own powers would be against the girls powers if necessary.

“I’m Kyra by the way,” she said figuring it couldn’t hurt to give her name.

“I’m Luxu.” He smiled, before looking up at the roofs. “I feel it would be faster to travel by roof top, for me at least but if needed I can stick down here with you so I don’t leave ya in my dust.” He joked.

He found an ally with barrels stacked up almost to the roof so he flew on up and waited to see if the girl would follow.
“We should pick up the pace she’s already got a massive head start.” He calls to her.

He hopped off the building to the next roof. Feeling a couple shingles dislodge as he jumped, almost throwing him off. He heard them clatter to the streets below as he made his way across the roof toward the next house.

Cera ran, utilizing her enhanced agility to propel herself across rooftops, losing herself in the wind, in the feeling of flying. She heard the two talking, but couldn't figure out what they were saying. Rage boiled under the surface of her skin, and her face twisted into a ferocious snarl, an unfortunate side effect of her powers. She was hot and cold at the same time, the anger burning and the fear freezing until she couldn't think past the sensations.

She gritted her teeth, and pushed through it, upping the pace until she was at risk of messing up at any moment. Adrenaline flooded her system. If she wasn't so scared, she might actually be enjoying the feeling. Her skin prickled, and she could feel the male and the female closing in on her.

There was nothing she could do, but try to outmaneuver them. She didn't have the endurance to outrun them. Pretending to stumble, she allowed herself to fall into the dark space between two buildings, closing her eyes so that the residual glow didn't draw attention to her position. She retreated into the shadows, waiting to see if they kept moving on.

Kyra had followed the girls trail at ground level even though she could have managed on the rooftops just fine. Basically growing up on the streets she'd learned a lot and was agile enough, but she figured it would be good to have someone on the ground just in case the girl decided to try and slip away.

That had proved a good idea when Kyra had seen the girl topple into an alley shortly ahead of her position. The girl had seemed to be quite used to running across rooftops and Kyra doubted she'd loose her footing that bad, so it must have been at least partially deliberate.

Kyra slowed and crept toward the alley quietly with her hands at the ready in case the girl attacked and she had to use her powers. She hoped Luxu had seen where the girl went and be here soon. When she reached the alley entrance she saw it was rather dark and started letting little wisps of silver energy swirl around her fingers and wrists.

Luxu spots Kyra stopping and he skids to a halt as well, following her gaze. She had stopped because she had caught up to the girl, who had seemingly fell off the roof.

He wondered if he should jump down as well but he didn’t want the girl to think they were trapping her. Because you know, two figures chasing you into a dark alley early in the morning doesn’t exactly seem friendly. He winced to himself as he realized he had no real introduction plan.

He glided down beside the first girl and took an unthreatening stance. Now that he thought about it, chasing someone who attacked you and then ran from you probably wasn’t the best idea… Hopefully she would just hear them out. Tucking his wings in tight he again tried sending her a small wave.

Cera backed up, her eyes beginning to glow brighter, a panic attack seizing her.
Can’t go back… can’t go back…
The three words repeated over and over again in her head, as if they would prevent the inevitable. A growl surfaced from deep within her chest, and her own ‘badge’ began to pulse in different colors. Her nose began to bleed, and she dropped to her knees, not even noticing the blood or the tears on her face. Bracing her hands against the ground, she began to pull emotional energy from everything she could reach.
After a moment, she lifted her head, eyes glowing a fierce silver, and she grinned maniacally at Luxu, catching sight of him at the last second. “Gotcha.” She said.
Then she released the massive wave of energy, the cracks spiderwebbing along the ground from her fingertips. The cracks moved up and out. Then Cera saw Luxu wave, took in his friendly expression, and her eyes went wide. With a startled breath, she sucked all of that energy back in, and with a dull thud, her limp body fell to the ground.

((Hehe… uhhh- I did not mean to make her overpowered… it just kinda came out. >.< All I can say is I’m a theater kid. xD))
