Before I Fall- Lauren Oliver. I got this book when I was 16-- I normally didn't and still don't buy random books that I see but apparently I bought this on a school trip to the bookstore (I also bought tarot cards I remember). Anyway, I clearly remember loving this book. I saw the movie for it recently and from what I remember while it was a "cute" adaptation, it ultimately didn't do it justice-- I will say that! I'm not saying this is the most groundbreaking YA book ever-- but 16 year old Gaby loved it so I'm recommending it for her. Maybe 16 year old you, deep down, will love it too! <3 Main Character finds herself reliving the same day over and over again. Made me feel a lot of things from what I remember.
Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret - Judy Blume
Baby Shade's most favorite read as a young thang. I remember checking this book out every year from like 4th-6th grade. It was everything a lonely gal like myself needed. It's a coming of age story about a girl who felt she had no one to discuss becoming a woman with, instead of the most obvious choice, our creator...God.
A lot of firsts here, first bra, first period, first crush, first kiss. It captures such a innocence that I feel will be super healing for any girl's or lady identifying inner child. The iconic author of this book has so many other good reads, but this one was MY book ya know. Looking at the reviews now, I think I need to put it on my to read again shelf.
Thank you Mother Goose for sharing first. <3

Aww! I love that!! 4th-6th grade me loved The Amazing Days of Abby Hayes! Not only were our names close but she also wanted to be a writer! she also couldn't get her ears pierced which is all she wanted but she could go to the mall and stuff with her friends. that's when I realized culturally we were different. I'm so serious lol this series will always have my heart
The Catcher in the Rye- was one of the first books I really saw myself in. SA, yearning for innocence lost, lost sibling, lots of things literally hit the nail on the head. I think of it when I think of how I want a book to make me feel
