Sarah (sekaplan) Written in 2005, it didn't hit the best sellers list until 7 years after its publication. John Green respects teenagers and the inner lives of teenagers the way many people only respect adults. There were lessons in this book for sure, but nothing felt overtly preachy. And the story is great without the events being a grand adventure, a magical world, or a distopia; something that I have not often found in YA over the last 10+ years of reading the genre.

Charlotte Weber I plan on using this book for this category too. I can't wait to get to it.

I planned to read this book for this challenge, read it, and it ended up under 'a book that made you cry'. *Sigh*, this man sure knows how to touch people!
I'll have to find another book for this challenge :-).

Brittany Murray I also read this book for this challenge. I guess I feel a lot differently about it than most people though. I actually really disliked this book. I found it to be really pretentious and wreaking of existential drivel with the characters always trying to be so lofty and intelligent. That is why it is great that everyone gets something different out of books though. For me hearing differences of opinions is half of what makes discussing a book exciting! I'm really glad that you gals enjoyed this book. I honestly wish I did.

Charlotte Weber I finally got around to reading this and I really enjoyed it. It is definitely a John Green book. I actually found it interesting that Miles was fascinated by last words. It did get a little existential at times but I chalked it up fitting with someone who is interested in famous last words.

Shaha (helloshaha) Yes, I added this and finished it.
