May 5th marks the anniversary of the 1862 Battle of Puebla, when the Mexican Army defeated the French expeditionary force.

* 5/5 - Read a book with TWO 5's in series #, page #, and/or 1st year pub (e.g. Cards on the Table is series book # 15, and this paperback edition has 258 pg) - tell how your book fits

* Victory over the French - Read a book set in France or Mexico (explain if not obvious from the book's main page)

* Battle of Puebla - Read a book whose author's first and last initials are in BATTLE OF PUEBLA (middle initials, if used, may be ignored) - initials may be used only so often as they appear in the target phrase.

* Celebrated more in US - Read a book set in Texas or California (cite reference if not evident on book's main page)

* Taco Thursday? - Read a book with an item of Mexican cuisine in the TEXT (enchilada, taco, margarita, tequila, etc) - quote the passage


RULES OF THE CHALLENGE

All books used must be a minimum of 100 pages long - Page length determined by HARDCOVER 1st edition. If there is no Hardcover, then the most popular paperback governs page #.

You may read in any format - text, audio or e-book.

You MUST finish the book before you can claim credit for completing a task.

A book may be used for only one task, even if it would satisfy the challenge for multiple tasks.

I would recommend any of these except for Chili Con Corpses...it was just meh. I really liked The Boys by Ron and Clint Howard.

I've done that myself in other challenges where the moderator includes an example of a book that will fit.

"reto" is the only word in above sentence that doesn't have a clear connection to the English equivalent ...

Of course, it means "Congratulations on finishing the challenge."
