Just a quick message really - I have just completed my first novel and hope to get it published next month. However I'm struggling to promote!

Gosh, I really feel for all these people here who work hard to create a book or story. They're all intelligent, creative, ambitious, inspired... And they're struggling to get the world to pay them an ounce of attention. There has to be a better way... My own writing is of several types: a satire on academe (The Master and Marmeladov); humorous stories written for middle grades to the hospice stage of life (Stories for Teachers; Green Stories for Treehuggers); a futurist adventure tale about the world after global warming has taken a heavy toll (Where the Ice Never Melts); an invaluable linguistic reference work (Dictionary of Polish Obscenities); and lots of translations of Russian classics (Dostoevsky: The Landlady; Dostoevsky: What They Don't Teach You in School). I plan to start a website to promote books for middle grades and high school. If you have books that you would like me to list, email me a brief description of your book - with at least a short sample - and I will list it. Hey Vina, I returned the favor, thank you. They let me out. I am on a site for authors on facebook and they had a "liking ladder" apparently they thought too much liking was going on, because four or five of us got put in jail for 24 hours. I've been freed again, and probably haven't learned my lesson. LOL!
