Hey there lovelies! We want to know what games you're playing! Video games or board games, what are you spending your time with?

message 2: by LTJ (new)

LTJ (ltj81) | 1076 comments I don't game as much as I used to since I now prefer reading but I've poured thousands of hours into CS:GO, my all-time favorite video game! I'm mostly a PC gamer so definitely have most of my playing time there as I own over 250 PC games :-D

TheNinjaReadsHorror (id173) | 7 comments I'm playing Tiny Tina's Wonderland at the moment. I'm a huge Borderlands franchise fan (my twelve year old dog is even named Moxxi lol) so I play a lot of couch co-ops with the hubby.

message 4: by Vickie (new)

Vickie (bookfan4ever) | 341 comments When my boys were younger, I loved playing the Lego video games with them- Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jurassic World, Marvel.

We've always played board games and card games. Our favorite card games as of late are Play Nine, Monopoly Deal, and Phase 10. And we love all sorts of board games, too many to mention, lol.

message 5: by Felina (new)

Felina | 648 comments I am the opposite of a video gamer though I do enjoy all Nintendo and Super Nintendo Mario games as well as Zelda: Breath of the Wild which got me through a bad bout of hand, foot, mouth a few years back. Ahhh good times!

I did recently watch a top 10 2021 youtube video from a very funny dude and he mentioned a deck building game where you play against a serial killer and the card game gives clues to a broader escape room that's happening. I'm so into that it makes me squee a little but I missed the name of the game. If anybody knows, let me know.

message 6: by LTJ (new)

LTJ (ltj81) | 1076 comments @Indra: LoL that is so cool you named your dog Moxxi! I also LOVE Borderlands, I'm waiting for Tiny Tina to be on Steam as it's on my Wish List...

TheNinjaReadsHorror (id173) | 7 comments @LTJ hope you like it! It's still super glitchy but we love it so far. There's the familiar crazy guns, the humor, and gameplay to feel like Borderlands but it has other stuff (e.g. spells) so that it's not just another one in the regular series. It's a nice balance.

message 8: by LTJ (new)

LTJ (ltj81) | 1076 comments @Indra: LoL that's my main issue with the gaming industry... rushing out broken/unfinished video games instead of giving it more time to release a polished title. LoL I'm sure it'll get better soon and yeah, I love the gameplay, humor, and even the graphics are unique and well, very nice!

SPELLS YOU SAY!?!?! LoL I can't wait, I hope it comes to Steam by the end of the year :-)

Ian (RebelGeek) Seal (rebel-geek) | 409 comments I spend entirely too much time & money playing Fallout 76. I want to play the new Alien game they added to Game Pass. I also need to restart Doom Eternal because I’m stuck.

Gamer's Unite! Super Cool! We have gamers lurking out in this group!

I have been a video gamer since I was a kid - have owned many systems during my life but I now just own a PS3. I haven't wanted to upgrade. lol I also do some Mobile gaming as well.

Favorite PS3 games are: Skyrim - Legendary Edition, Dishonored, Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition, Fallout: New Vegas, Need for Speed, Burnout Paradise, and I have a few others. :)

In mobile gaming I play: Empires & Puzzles and Mythwars.

LTJ (ltj81) | 1076 comments My all-time favorite franchise is Max Payne, I loved 1 and 2, 3 was alright but I felt it wasn't a true Max Payne game. I hear they're remastered the first two and I can't wait :-D

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 334 comments I work at a toys and games store so we have a whole board game section. I've been watching TableTop videos on Youtube to become familiar with the games we have. There are several horror games we have that I've already learned how to play and have played. Here are some of my favorites:

Gloom,
Horrified
Mysterium Park
Villainous
Love Letter
Muchkin
Say Anything
Clue

In video games I have questions for the gamers on here:

1) What is your favorite video game of all time and what system do you play it on?

2) How many systems do you all own and/or have played in the past?

3) What games are you looking forward to that you just have to play?

message 23: by Marie, Coffee-Chocolate-Book Lover (new)

Marie | 3745 comments Mod
In non-video games - board games, etc.

1) What are your favorite board games of all time?

2) What games do you play the most?

3) What board games are you wanting to buy or would like to play?

message 24: by Kevin (new)

Kevin | 217 comments I mostly play soulsborne and souls-like games. I put a bunch if time in Dead By Daylight as well. i typically enjoy RPGs like Dragon Age and Elder Scrolls.

I mostly play on console. Xbox Series X. PS5 for their exclusives. we have a Nintendo Switch, mostly for the kids, but they have some good games on there too.

As far as board games, I like the dungeon crawler. Shadows of Brimstone, Sword & Sorcery and Mage Knight type games. i also enjoy games like Eldritch Horror. As a family Sushi Go is a fantastic choice.

message 25: by LTJ (new)

LTJ (ltj81) | 1076 comments @Marie: For me...

1) What is your favorite video game of all time and what system do you play it on?

Half-Life on PC

2) How many systems do you all own and/or have played in the past?

PC, Switch, PlayStation 4, iPhone

3) What games are you looking forward to that you just have to play?

I'm waiting for a new FPS or battle royale game that is fun, fresh, and innovative. Been bored lately!

-------------------------------

1) What are your favorite board games of all time?

Monopoly!!!

2) What games do you play the most?

I love Blackjack by far, but if just for board games, definitely Monopoly!

3) What board games are you wanting to buy or would like to play?

I already got it a few years ago from my wife... a World of Warcraft-theme Monopoly and it rocks :-D

I am much more a table top gamer than a video gamer. My husband is a HIGE Warhammer 40K guy though I’ve never played. That’s his thing that gets to stay his.

I think my favorite table top game is Eldritch Horror. It’s a group playing against the game style based on Lovecraft. My husbands group of friends played it all the time when we were dating and it was so fun.

I also love Energy Empire which is a resource management game.

Right now we play really elementary stuff with our 6 year old. Yeti in the Spaghetti, Uno and go fish. We just played Blockus last night which is good fun.

My brother and his wife are mega table top gamers. They own about 75 games and travel to conventions. We used to play a lot more table top before they moved to Florida. I’m looking forward to much more gaming once we move to Florida.

I haven't played it, but I have never really owned the pc gaming laptops. I wish they had it on a system. I have heard so many awesome things about it. I am sure it will be around forever just like all the legendary games. :)

Here is another couple of questions for you gamers.

1) Are they any Arcade games that are or were your favorites?

2) With Arcade games were there any you wish had been on a gaming system?

Bonus question! (Lol)

Where you live are there still Arcade Gamerooms?

message 30: by Felina (new)

LTJ (ltj81) | 1076 comments 1). Mortal Kombat and Streetfighter!

2). It's hard since I love the old-school joysticks but not really, they just ported them over to console and PC :-D

3). Does Dave and Busters count? LoL that's it but I miss the old-school arcades that had tickets you could win with machines to turn into actual prizes. Some great times indeed!

1) Are they any Arcade games that are or were your favorites?

Pacman and Ms. Pacman, Space Invaders

No dammit! So I bought one of those mini arcade games "for my kid" for Christmas a couple of years ago. It has Rampage and a couple of other games that I can't remember the name right now, but it looks awesome in my living room!

Yeah I did and I had tons of games too - most memorable games and the ones I played the most are:

Centipede
Defender
Dig Dug
Galaxian
Missile Command
Ms. Pacman
Pacman
Pole Position
Space Invaders
Chopper Command
Donkey Kong
Frogger
Lock 'n' Chase
Pitfall
River Raid

And then about 1987 one of my brothers bought me the NES for Christmas and then I was playing that for a long time. I had more games for it then I did the Atari eventually. lol

Erin wrote: "I'm not a gamer but I actually like watching videos (on YouTube) of other people playing games, mainly first-person horror games. The timeline for entire walkthrough is usually insane, 7 - 10 hours!"

Well really 7-10 hours walkthrough is nothing compared to what a true game would take if everything was grabbed and explored. Most video games that are in depth can have anywhere from 300 to 400 hours of gameplay.

What you are watching is a reduced video game footage of gamers just going through and getting the basic stuff needed to finish the game.

Yep, sure can solo this one. I recommend starting with at least 2 investigators though. You just control all the characters. There may be some solo rules in the book.

Fantasy Flight Games also makes Arkham Horror, Mansions of Madness and Elder Sign. Arkham Horror: The Card Game is in the same family but its a living card game.
