Andréa (fernandie) | 913 comments The most obvious complementary titles are the next two books in the Fog Mound trilogy:
Faradawn (The Fog Mound #2) by Susan Schade Faradawn by Susan Schade & Jon Buller
Simon's Dream (The Fog Mound #3) by Susan Schade Simon's Dream by Susan Schade & Jon Buller

Andréa (fernandie) | 913 comments Another kids' middle grade title that uses both text and comics is Viminy Crowe's Comic Book by Marthe Jocelyn, Richard Scrimger, & Claudia Davila. In that case, it's primarily a novel, but the kids in the book wind up entering into the world of the comic they're reading, and so then the story switches between text and comics panels.

Andréa (fernandie) | 913 comments Also similar are Brian Selznick's novels The Invention of Hugo Cabret, The Marvels, and Wonderstruck. They are novels, but have large chunks of illustrations that are essential to the story; the books switch from chapters of text to chapters of images and back.
