Author of the book: Natsuo Kirino
What is it about/why have you nominated it: Kirino is "a Japanese novelist and a leading figure in the recent boom of female writers of Japanese detective fiction." and "Out" has garnered critical success as well as being quite provocative. Thought it sounded pretty cool!

What it is about: A young Nigerian woman emigrates to the United States and things happen... (I'm not the best at summaries)
Why I nominated it: Since I watched Adichie's TED talk 'We should all be feminists' I have wanted to read her novels. A good friend has recommended her to me several times and I've never got round to it. The novel seems to have got many good reviews :-)

That's right, it's World Book Day this month (the 5th to be precise), and what better way to kick us out of our comfort zones, and read something a bit more international.
