I’m looking for comments on both the pitch and the blurb. I’m interested in whatever strikes you, the good, the bad, and the bored.
Thanks,
JD

Genre:
Women’s Fiction / Women’s Saga

Elevator Pitch:

A woman inherits her mother’s enchanted bed and breakfast, and with it, a mountain of debt. But when a handsome stranger tries to convince her to sell, she must decide whether to give up her inheritance or use the magic that her mother kept secret to save it.

Back cover Synopsis:

Tessa Bellwood is a rising young journalist in New York who’s fired after she uses hacked information in a news story. When her estranged mother dies, Tess inherits her old bed and breakfast in Northern California.

But developer Rafe Paloma, with the devastating looks of a movie star, is intent on separating Tess from her new property. Yet when they meet, their chemistry ignites, and Rafe starts to question his loyalty to his boss.

Tess wants her new business to succeed. But with Rafe’s boss using every dirty trick he can think of, even selling might not get her out of trouble—with a staggering amount of debt, problems with the house, and the secrets she soon uncovers about her mother’s magical life.

Although she’s uncertain about Rafe’s intentions, Tess is faced with a choice: sell off her birthright—or use her mother’s magic trying to save it.
