I thought that Halliday was autistic.
They definitely both could be! (Wade & Halliday) But has anyone read ‘Ready Player Two’? If so, was it as good as Ready Player One? I haven’t read it yet because I read some reviews that weren’t terribly nice!
Rachel wrote: "They definitely both could be! (Wade & Halliday) But has anyone read ‘Ready Player Two’? If so, was it as good as Ready Player One? I haven’t read it yet because I read some reviews that weren’t te..."I have tried to read it. It wasn't very good I DNF it.
Right! So Halliday is canon autistic from the first book. Wade was confirmed in interviews AND if you read Ready Player Two, you will see his sensory sensitivities come out and he has a meltdown as well. The second book was not overall well received, no. I enjoyed it very much, though I could see where there were technical problems with the story. I do NOT agree with the reviews critiquing Wade's character. I think they are critiquing autism tbf. And a lot of the outrage was over the heavy handed social justice themes
If you enjoy three-chapter-long infodumps about the same subject, you will enjoy that part of the book. If you want to revisit the characters and world, you will probably enjoy it. But if you are into it more for a story that excites and satisfies you, you might be disappointed
