Carolyn F. If you like erotic books, I love the series Abiogenesis by Kaitlyn O'Connor just ignore the covers.

I also like the series Burning Up Flint by Laurann Dohner.

Grimspace series is super good.

Cassandra Page (cassandrapage) | 23 comments Going back a couple of decades, Anne McCaffrey did this well with the Catteni series, I thought. The first book is Freedom's Landing.

Another author worth looking at is Pippa Jay. :)

you might also try some of Andre Norton's works. She passed away in 2007, but had some very interesting aliens. She was also a major influence on many sci fi writers down through the years. She does a cracking good story.
