Play Book Tag discussion

I didn’t realise when I put this one on hold that chronologically, this was the 4th book in the series. I previously read and enjoyed Practical Magic, but this instalment was not as good, and I think one of the biggest reasons for that was that it brought together characters from the previous books in the series, and having not read the prequels, I did not know all of the backstory, and the first 25% felt like a rush to tell anyone who hadn’t read the other books the backstory. The magic felt a little cheesy, and there were lots of coincidences that occurred which were needed to help to move the plot forward. On the other hand, I really liked how the strong female characters were represented, and that they were very believable.
