This is a collection of essays and poems written by Ray Bradbury between 1961 and 1990 on the subject of writing and creating art in general terms, but even more specifically about his own writing. There is included a marvelous interview everyone needs to read where Bradbury talks about the art of adapting a work to screen and stage. He adapted several of his own works (Fahrenheit 451 and Something Wicked This Way Comes) and also Moby-Dick or, the Whale for John Huston. His love, exuberance and humor are on every page. I have added more of his work to my TBR, especially short story collections as that medium forms the backbone of his legacy. If you are a fan, you owe it to yourself to at least read those essays describing the birth of your favorites.
