4 out of 5 stars. My teen self would have really liked this book. I still did really like it though it made me cry too often. It doesn't take much to make me cry though. I really connected with Jack's emotions. His desperation to take care of his little brother no matter the cost gripped my heart and had me cheering for them.

5/5 The story is intense. A story about chaos, survival and betrayal. It is hauntingly beautiful. I also connected with the characters emotions. I read it from start to finish in one day.
