The hallways in the academy are large and spacious, each with a few doors on the walls.

message 2: by River (new)

River Ayrlin walked into the hallways looking down at her book

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

Kaye walked in as well, turning her head towards the window, watching a bird outside. She didn't see Ayrlin and bumped into her, sending Kaye sprawling on the floor. Her face was red and her hands were made into fists when she got up. "Watch it!"

message 4: by River (new)

River “Sorry.” Ayrlin said looking up.

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

"Sorry? That's all you say?" Kaye's face was the color of a tomato.

message 6: by River (new)

River “What else do you want me to say?”

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

"That I'll never have to see you again?" Kaye yells.

message 8: by River (new)

River Ayrlin just stared at her not knowing what to aay

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

"I guess if you don't want to talk, you don't need to talk." Kaye encased her in a block of ice and left.

the_rabid_snail | 101 comments Moko whistled an annoyingly cheery tune as he meandered down the hall, remaining purposefully oblivious to most things going on around him. The mundane troubles of his fellow students held little fascination for him, so he usually tuned them more or less out. When he came upon Ayrlin, he couldn't help the mischievous smirk tugging at his lips. "Well, that is... unfortunate. More so for you than for me, of course." He remarked, though he didn't expect any answer since Ayrlin was trapped. "Hmm..." He rubbed his chin, trying to think of something to do. "Be right back." He told her, though he couldn't resist adding, "don't go anywhere." Snickering at his own idiotic comment, he dashed down to the cafeteria, borrowed (read: stole) a parching amount of salt, and began layering it on the ice to help it melt faster. Sadly he didn't have any powers over fire or ice, so natural means would have to do. He darted into the teacher's lounge and "borrowed" a space heater and then ran back and forth between classrooms until he found an extension cord that would reach back to the lounge. Once everything was all plugged in, he turned the heater on, watching as the ice melted steadily. Every so often, he added more salt to keep the process from stalling.

message 11: by River (new)

River Finally the ice fully melted, “T-thank y-you.” Ayrlin said shivering

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

Kaye was listening further down the hall. Ugh, really? she thought.

message 13: by River (new)

River ((You on rabid))

message 14: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 101 comments ((Sorry, I'm just bouncing between different groups rn!))

"No problem." Moko shrugged. At least in his opinion, he hadn't felt like he'd done all that much. His powers were useless in a scenario like this, so all he had done was the sensible thing. "You probably ought to sit in front of the space heater a little longer until you warm up."

message 15: by River (new)

River Ayrlin day infornt of it still shivering after a few minutes

message 16: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 101 comments Moko tapped his fingers against his thigh, looking around the hall as if for something to say. Right, like words would just explode into existence that he could read aloud to continue the conversation. Although, he thought, that would be awesome if they did. And it would be a great excuse for saying something that's considered socially unacceptable. There was one thing he was sort of curious about, so he might as well ask while he was here. "If you're a forest fairy, how'd you get yourself trapped in ice?"

message 17: by River (new)

River “S-some young g-girl” She said shivering not used to the cold

message 18: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 101 comments Moko turned up the heater a few notches to increase the warmth. Unfortunately, he didn't have a jacket on him or he would have lent it to Ayrlin. "Weird. Why'd she trap you?"

message 19: by River (new)

River “I’ve a-apperantly been a-annoying her.” She said warming up slightly

message 20: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 101 comments "That seems like kind of a harsh reaction." Moko commented, twisting his lips and shrugging one shoulder. He wasn't sure what to think about all this, so he went back to his usual, aggravating persona. "Seems like she might be the one who needed to cool down. Although, I can't say it sounds like she needs any salt; she's probably got more than enough of that." Yes, his jokes were terrible, but he found them funny in spite of that.

message 21: by River (new)

River Ayrlin laughed at him warming up slightly again

message 22: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 101 comments Moko couldn't help but smirk devilishly at her laughter. Since most people were usually annoyed by his dumb remarks, any appreciation at all for them went straight to his head. "Thank you kindly." He bowed at the waist as if he were on a great stage before a standing ovation.

message 23: by River (new)

River Ayrlin roller her eyes at him and shivered again

message 24: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 101 comments Moko leaned against the wall with his arms folded against his chest, flashing her a cheeky grin. His eyes glimmered merrily as he was in his element when he could be dramatic and silly. "You should probably try drinking something warm, like hot chocolate." He couldn't help but cough out a laugh at that, though he knew he would be the only one to get that joke. One of his friends he'd met traveling had given him that as a nickname. I think I'm more hot than warm, though, since I don't give off those nice and fuzzy, welcoming vibes. I definitely make other people hot under the collar, though. Still, it's not my fault they can't take a joke and get all upset over it. It took him a moment and a few blinks to withdraw from his own world and return to the present moment. "Cider would probably work too. Or tea or coffee or something like that." He added, in case she didn't like hot chocolate. Though if she didn't, he might have to take that personally. Well, not truly. Ever since he'd gotten that nickname, he'd made it his personal goal in life to pretend to be more offended over anything concerning hot chocolate than anything else simply because he found it amusing even if it was only in his own head and not funny to anyone else who wasn't privy to the history there.

message 25: by River (new)

River “Hot chocolate is fine.” She said her body tempature not warming any after how long she sat in there

message 26: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 101 comments "Well, you're in luck because I have the amazing and awe-inspiring power to always make perfect hot chocolate." Moko teased, though it was partially true. He was pretty decent in the kitchen, anyway. Perhaps warming her from the inside out would help more. "Shall we go find some?"

message 27: by River (new)

River “Sure.” She said trying to get up but failing

message 28: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 101 comments "Are your legs jello or just frozen?" He asked, raising one eyebrow teasingly. Nevertheless, he held out his walking stick for her to take. "Grab on, and I'll pull you up. Then you can use it to help you get around if you need it."

message 29: by River (new)

River She grabbedz onto his hand and got up and held onto his arm to stable herself body tempature to low.

message 30: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 101 comments Moko internally grimaced as she ignored the walking stick and went straight for his arm instead. He might be lively and prance about as if he were carefree, but he hadn't stayed alive this long by not bothering to maintain a distance between himself and other people. He might be a bit of a fool, but he wasn't so foolish as to allow strangers to be within a short blade's reach of him. He unhooked his arm from her grasp and held his walking stick on the side nearest her to keep space between them. If she needed assistance, the walking stick was hers to borrow. His arm was not going to be an option; he wasn't that stupid.

the_rabid_snail | 101 comments ((Mo is a goof, but he's a tough nut to crack. He's unfortunately sort of paranoid about this stuff lol.))

message 32: by River (new)

River ((Alright didn’t see the part about the stock sorry))

She grabbed the stick and walked beside him hoping to warm up her body tempature before it got dangerously low

message 33: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 101 comments ((No problem! Just thought I'd mention that Mo has some issues lol.))

Moko was gratified to see that she took the walking stick to keep herself upright. It wasn't anything special, just something he'd picked up on his travels. A friend had crafted it for him as a gift, so he supposed it was special to him. To anyone else, however, it likely had little value. It wasn't made from rare wood or with painstakingly, intricate designs or anything like that. There was a dried and pressed, yellow rose embedded in a crook on one side that had been held in place with a glue finish, but it was a simple job. The walking stick would hold no financial value to anyone anywhere. "Should we scamper off campus then? I don't imagine the cafeteria has very good hot chocolate, so we might try somewhere in town if you feel you're up for it?" He asked, twisting his lips thoughtfully. Whatever she decided would be alright by him.

message 34: by River (new)

River “That’s fine with me.” She said not looking up admiring the cane

message 35: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 101 comments Ever observant - well, except when he wasn't (which was totally always on purpose, of course) - Moko did not fail to notice that his humble walking stick held some intrigue for Ayrlin. Personally, he didn't see that there was anything to fuss over, but perhaps it was more about it being a possession than anything about the cane in and of itself. After all, he found the things of others interesting only because they revealed things about the person who owned them, not usually because the thing itself had any great merit about it. Things were just things, as he always said. Of course, growing up the way he had, things had to be just things. There was no room for getting all sentimental about objects or forming any kind of attachments to them. He had to put in considerable effort to keep from cringing at that thought, thinking next of Edwin, the fluffy bear stuffed with wool that he'd had since he was little. It was the one attachment he'd allowed himself to have, but when he left home, he'd had to leave Edwin behind with Rosalie. Way to be hypocritical, you dork. He almost rolled his eyes at himself but refrained from doing so since he had company at the present moment.
"Well, maybe there will be a cafe somewhere around here. I'm sure we can find something." He said brightly, not wanting to be in his own thoughts anymore as they had taken a bit of a gloomy turn suddenly.

((Should we move locations soon? I think there's a cafe-type place they could go to next.))

message 36: by River (new)

River ((ya sorry got home and had to clean a bit and read fb posts from my graduation))

"Alright, this cane is really neat by the way." She said looking up at him.

the_rabid_snail | 101 comments ((I've got to go to work now, but I'll be back in later. Perhaps seven hours from now? Idk if you'll still be on then, but I'll be here once I get off!))

message 38: by River (new)

River ((alright bye have fun lol!))

message 39: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 101 comments ((Back on for a little bit! I'm an hour late, but I still made it lol.))

Moko raised an eyebrow at her comment. "Oh, well I'm glad you like it. It's just something I picked up a couple years ago." That walking stick had been with him for many journeys now, and it had made it all the way to this one.

message 40: by River (new)

River Ayrlin stayed quiet as they continued their walk
