Ishaan Venkatraman This book is Amazing! It is definitely worth reading and I would also recommend this book to my friends, family and others. This book is a non-fiction crime novel written by the author Truman Capote and contains a nail-biting and thrilling storyline throughout the book. Truman is a short-story writer and out of the few books he has professionally written, In Cold Blood was one of the best and well-known books. The book follows the investigation of the murder of a farm family and the two criminals that have committed the murder. At start of the book, the farm family called the Clutter family is introduced. In this family there is Herbert Clutter, his wife Bonnie Clutter and Herbert's two younger children Nancy Clutter and Kenyon Clutter. On the Other hand the two psychotic murders of the story Dick Hickock and Perry Smith are introduced going on a road trip to Kansas.

Both the Kansas farm family and the two murderers are well characterized with heavy imagery and description regarding the specific work styles, attitudes and behaviors of the each of the characters. However not all the information regarding these characters is revealed in the beginning. The characters were described in a way that many people including me could relate and understand at least 1 or more of them. The story was also structured very well as it constantly switched between the Kansas family and the journey of the two murders. Overall, the story took a lot of twists and turns that were unexpected. It kept me guessing what was coming next and was very unpredictable and exciting. I remember reading the Percy Jackson series when I was about 11 years old and feeling the same way!

Despite the overall flow and structure of the story, the writer also did a great job of identifying and portraying some key controversial topics still debated on today. Some of these topics include punishments for deadly criminals, justice and racism. These controversies are spread throughout the book and are touched upon once in a while to keep the audience engaged and also inform them of such topics. The main argument/theme or topic of the story is the problem of harsh racism and the portrayal of the violent side of people who kill and steal for greed.

Like I said in the beginning, I would no doubtedly recommend this book to the public. I would recommend this book to all ages of people as I believe that anybody could read this book and enjoy its thrilling and nerve-racking experience. Everyone would also be able to somehow relate with the characters and the storyline in some way. I hope you all enjoy reading this book because I sure loved it!
