25.3 - Cat's Task: Lion Range

Two book task, one from each option, no childrens, one graphic novel ok.

Lions are now only found in the wild in sub-Saharan Africa and western India. Let's read books from those areas in honour of the dwindling range of lions

For both books, at least 70% of the book must take place in the setting

Book 1: read a book set in one or more sub-Saharan country or countries. We'll use this list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_...

Your book can be set in more than one sub-Saharan country, provided that the total time in sub-Sahara is at least 70% of the book.
REQUIRED: Identify the country(ies), provide a reference for the setting information if the location isn't specified in the GR description or the metadata.

Book 2: read a book set in India

I may be being dense this week. I have gone to list of countries -Does Sub saharan Africa include all four categories below it? i.e. Eastern, middle etc My Geography is appalling

Yes! Sub-Saharan Africa includes many many countries! Any of those listed under the East / Central / West / South work.

Do the Andaman Islands count as part of India. They appear to be listed as a union territory of India.

Yes, it seems clear that they are closely administrated by the main Indian government and constitution.

Would Cracking India work for Book 2?
It appears to be set in what is now Pakistan but was India at the time the story is set (pre-Partition).

If the story is at least 70% pre-Partition it will work, yes
