Beautiful.
The follow-up to Thrity Umrigar's The Space Between Us. I loved that book so much, I was afraid that this book would leave me disappointed. Instead the same emotions took over me and I want more of these characters.
Still living in the Slum with her granddaughter, Maya, Bhima has not rebounded from the loss of her job. She stills feels betrayed, but aches for the missing friendship of Sera her prior employer. A new woman enters her life, so vastly different from Sera, yet over time a strong bond builds between them.
A story of healing, yet of more heartbreak too. Exploring the emotions of loss and love and how they interweave in our lives.
A gifted writer that I highly recommend
