I didn't suspect her as the murderer but she did throw off bad vibes from the start. I wasn't surprised when she was revealed. Her attitude tipped me off. She never seemed honest or willing to help Sebastian.Another reason to love Hero. She is ready to stand by Sebastian completely. I loved that Hero killed Fanny. Hero isn't afraid to do whatever it takes to support her husband.
Like you, I didn’t suspect her of being the murderer but found her a bit strange. One tipping point was when Hero took note that she called France as her country of heart and referred to England as “they.’
Shame on Fanny for underestimating another woman given what she’d done. Hero saw it coming and dispatched her quickly. I thought it perfect that she was felled by a woman, especially as she left her dirty work in killing Sophie to a man.

I forgot that she called France her country of heart. That was a good clue. I agree it was perfect that Fanny was taken down by a woman.
I didn't suspect Fanny at all. I didn't see her as a threat, and it wasn't until the discussions about her spying for both sides that I even really noticed her and considered her a threat. Hero does not hesitate when someone she loves is in danger. She is quick and decisive and I'm not at all surprised she killed Fanny.
