I'm finishing my book VY: A Beginning And An End which is a Dystopian>Fiction>Erotic/Romance-->SciFi/Romance-->Paranormal/Heroic Romance

Engineered virus decimates global male population. Males are stripped of most of their rights for their safety and given one of two options:
1. Follow new repopulation law and impregnate 1000+ volunteer women at exhaustive pace, or..
2. Forced production of reproductive material in medical prison for the rest of their life.
Main character slowly adapts to his new reality through numerous physical, emotional and relationship struggles. Eventually a new generation of powered humans emerges and a global war ignites over the power struggle. Eventually the war comes to and end, the planets ecosystem in shambles. One day, with main character and his original wife being a little over 100 years old, she passes away. He's furious and with powered grand daughter, they form a plan to rescue "mom". This is a journey across time and dimension, a very old and powerful entity standing in their way. Will they succeed and bring the mom forward to the present in a new body, or will they fail, main character being destroyed and erased from history.

I have a question. In shifter romance werewolf in particular can intense emotion or pain cause someone who has never shifted before but has the genes to enter their first shift?

yes, in my second book I made the character turn into an alpha after his big brother, the OG alpha dies. the scene was he was in agone, a tear in his eye and next thing.. he starts shifting. so could work!

Thank you! I'm actually reading a book and I made a guess towards rthe beginning that she was a werewolf and she is and she was a non shifter but she's being torured rn and I think she might shift but didn't know if it was a possibility or not.
