I think that Three Assassins by Kōtarō Isaka should fit this. I read Bullet Train for the June mini challenge and kept thinking this is what an adventure book should be! I realized that Three Assassins is the first book in the series that Bullet Train is in, so I'm imagining it will be similar based on the the summary.
I just finished Journey by James A. Michener. If you want an introduction to Michener, but don't want to read his "doorstops", this is a good one.
I read West With Giraffes that is a fictional account of bringing 2 giraffe to the San Diego Zoo. It is quite an adventure!
I read Cece Rios and the Desert of Souls by Kaela Rivera. It was good, but I don't have any desire to finish the series. It's middle grade, which I don't typically go for, but a friend recommended it to me.
