Christmas in July Book Exchange discussion

Having an issue with something? Post it here. I am also going to post some guidance here. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask! :-)

* You MUST sign up on Elfster in order to participate. This is where the matches will be done and where you can set up a wish list (or a link for your GR wish list which is so much easier!) Sign ups are open until 7/1/2022. You will then have until 7/31/2022 to send all of your gifts!

There is a typo in the title "2021" instead of "2022", but don't worry you are in the right place.

* The gift amount should be around $15. You can do as much as you want, but you should really try not to go below $15.

* Ebooks are the easiest to gift, and that is what we tend to do here! Message 2 lists those places that you can buy books and gift them, or buy gift certificates. If you have any other suggestions, let us know!

* Keep in mind that it is difficult for people in one country to gift to others in a different country, especially with Amazon. Please list where you prefer to get your books from.

Unfortunately, I can't create a folder in this group, but I will be adding threads starting with "2022".

For some reason, Goodreads decided to limit me to creating one thread at a time today. Will be adding more soon!

Goodreads is being a pain in there butt with all of their changes. I normally put who the gift is from in the area that says book recommended by but as of next month goodreads is stopping that feature ☹️

Blame all on AMAZON! I am not sure I want to continue with GR after they "revamp" the site. I dread the moment :(

The settings thing is so tough. In order to have this a private group, it says only moderators. I can try to change the settings and see if that helps.

So looking at it, the only options are to make this public or have it super restricted. We can try to open it up and see if that helps with inviting people. If it becomes a problem, I can change it back. Hopefully this helps. Feel free to invite whoever you want.

Since there is a question about membership, I am extending the sign up day by one more week. We will close it on July 8.

I thought as much, but was hoping for Eflster to be somewhat flexible. Especially because they keep updating and changing every few months (it seems).
