I have just started this book. I think it would be fun to just reflect on this book as we read it together. I have just got to the point where he has gotten to Philadelphia. (view spoiler)[ It is interesting to me that his father let him decide the direction of his education at age 12. One of the things that John Taylor Gatto said was that back in the 1800's and before kids grew up fast. They didn't coddle them. They didn't try to extend childhood the way that our civilization has done with school. I wonder if anyone would like to comment on Ben Franklin's education. (hide spoiler)]
