Read a book of classical mythology or folklore, or read a book that is a retelling of a myth or folktale or saga.

This one looks like the most challenging spot this year. What are you reading / planning here?

I wounder it this one would qualify. A Modern Myth It is not strictly a retelling, but involves the Greek gods and semi-gods. I read it last year - gave it 5 stars - and want to read it again some day. I am not sure I got all the in-jokes. In any case highly recommended. It is one of Scott Alexander’s best stories with lots of twists and fun.

“Aphrodite - She stays by the sea shore. Shining shells and soft surf sounds surround her shelter. Cythera simmers with summer, and seals swim in the sun. Songbirds circle in the sapphire sky, and sea stars sit semi-submerged in the sand.”

I plan on reading The Crystal Cave which I originally read about 40 years ago. I haven't read a King Arthur saga in a long time, so I want to go back to the first one I ever read.
