I had never read it before. Put it on my TBR after Twilight.

I have two books that I am divided about picking which one is my favorite and Jane Eyre is one of them. I love this story!!

I picked it for my classic romance and it is now in my top 10 favorites of all time. My teenage daughter read it and she loves it too. Not more than Anne of Green Gables though. LOL
I guess I should have said that there are two books that I like equally as "my favorite book." They are Jane Eyre and Persuasion. I honestly can't pick one over the other, so for me they share the spot. :)
Ha. I totally misunderstood you. I thought you were saying there were two books you were picking to read for your challenge. SO SORRY.
you were quite polite about it though. Some crazy lady telling you to pick your favorite.
I finished reading Jane Eyre a couple of weeks back, a book I probably would never have read without this challenge(I'm very conscious that everyone here loves it!)I must admit, I was presently surprised.
I was struck by the pace of the novel. It was very leisurely, definitely a book to curl up on the sofa with and enjoy the language. I felt I got to know Jane very well by the end of the book and really admired her honesty and bravery. Jane's definitely one to stick to her principles. I kept asking myself how I would have reacted - I'm definitely a wimp in comparison...
What do you like most about Jane?
I agree with you. It was a leisurely book. I think the thing that drew me most was Jane herself. I loved who she was and what she stood for. I loved her growth and her wisdom through the years. I could very much relate to her.
I read this one few years ago and once I started reading I couldn't let go. It's one of the best I've read even if not for the challenge
