Play Book Tag discussion

This was a very enjoyable imagining of Shakespeare’s home life, about which very little is known. We are drawn straight into the story when Hamnet, having run around his village looking for help foe his twin Judith when she is ill lays down on the bed next to her when he can find no-one to help. Agnes, Shakespeare’s wife, is at the centre of this book. A strong, independent woman, she is almost destroyed by the death of her son. I would have preferred to have a narrative arc throughout the book, as each chapter felt like its own short story, but the writing was beautiful, and it is clear that the author did a lot of research before writing this book.
