Skyler was standing, waiting for the initiates. This year she was in charge of the Dauntless transfers. Once all the initiates piled into the room, she looked at them. "There are three stages for initiation. The first stage is physical. The second stage is mental. Finally, the third and final stage is a mix of both. This first stage is physical. We're going to begin with shooting targets." She gestured to the guns across from her. "Step up to these guns here and aim for the target."

Delilah and William shuffled over to the guns. The two of them stood beside each other and shared an uncertain stare.
Skyler watched the initiates. "You will all be ranked against each other and trained separately from the Dauntless borns, however, you will all be ranked together. The rankings will determine which initiates become Factionless and which ones become full members of Dauntless. The rankings will also determine the kind of jobs you'll be permitted to have after joining Dauntless."

Scarlett walked it. She looked around nervously, she didn't really know anyone yet. She looked at Skylar and thought she might recognize her from somewhere but couldn't place it. She shook the thought and picked up the gun.

Lottie started shooting, she hit it eventually
Delilah and William continued shooting. William still hadn't hit the target.
Skyler watched the initiates shoot, sighing when William couldn't hit the target.

-Cedar sprinted in late- “Sorry I’m late!” -She called, struggling to pull on her boot all the way, hopping on one foot as she made her way over to the targets-
Skyler stared at Cedar, raising an eyebrow. "We take punctuality very seriously here at Dauntless," she said sternly. "Don't be late again." She didn't seem like an overly tough trainer, but she knew how to put her foot down and could be stern when she had to be.
-Cedar nodded vigorously- “Of course ma’am!” -She got straight to training--Callahan was already there, not really putting any effort into helping teach the class, everyone seemed to be doing fine-
William finally hit the target, though it was far from perfect. Skyler stepped up behind him. "What's your name?" she asked the initiate.
"Liam," he responded. Delilah inhaled deeply beside her brother.
Skyler nodded. "Ah, yes. I remember you. The Erudite transfer. No wonder you're Dauntless. You're too impulsive. And reckless. Watch your aim, because in Dauntless, you have to actually be able to shoot something in order to get through initiation." Her voice was stern, but it was by no means rude. Just matter of fact. Nonetheless, he clenched his jaw. He didn't like being singled out by the Dauntless trainers.
He focused his eye on the target. He used his intelligent, Erudite mind to help him aim. Soon, he was able to hit the target six times in a row.

-Cedar took up one of the guns and looked at it curiously, she hadn’t shot one before but didn’t really mind. Taking aim she missed the target by a foot, she cursed. Taking a step closer and aiming with more intent she hit the outer ring of the target--Callahan watched the initiates, his style of training was letting the trainees figure it out first before helping at all-
Skyler watched the other initiates. There were no other initiates for her to help at the moment, so she just watched, waiting patiently. Part of her hoped they wouldn't need any more help, but another part of her wanted them to need more help as she loved helping others. But she never dared say that around other Dauntless members. Selflessness and willing ess to help were Abnegation traits, not Dauntless traits, and because Skyler was Divergent, she needed to tread carefully with her actions and words.

Scarlett carried on shooting. She had hit the target a few times now, but she wasn't concentrating rn, she let out a yawn and carried on shooting, more focused now.

Scarlett bit her lip while everyone was shooting and then felt the weight of the gun again, shooting but distracted

-Callahan got to his feet and walked over to the two struggling initiates- “Try aiming with the butt of the gun against your shoulder (if it’s a rifle)/ holding the gun with both hands (if it’s a pistol).”

-Callahan yawned, this day had been long and boring. ‘What initiates can’t hit a target already?’ He thought gazing at the two girls-

Xavier aimed at the target, missing by a long shot. He looked around at the other initiates. He was the only one who hadn't yet hit the target. He was likely the underdog of the group. He was an Amity transfer, so most of the other initiates didn't take him seriously, since he was from the peaceful faction, seeing as Dauntless and Amity were nearly complete opposites.

-Callahan had written off Xavier a while ago, ‘Amity transfers hardly make it far.’ He thought bitterly--Cedar saw the boy beside her struggling but couldn’t do much to help-
Xavier noticed everyone looking at him. He was determined to hit the target though, so when Tessa asked him for help, he refused. He was annoyingly stubborn, to the point where he usually refused help whenever he was offered it. He held the gun steady, staring at the target. He took a deep breath and fired. He missed again. Come on, he thought. I>You'll become Dauntless if you don't pass the first stage of training. He aimed again, finally hitting the target. It wasn't the most perfect shot, it has actually hit the corner of the target, not the center, but it was better than missing again.
Skyler watched Xavier, intrigued. For an Amity, he's quite stubborn, she thought. The Amity's biggest flaw was being unassertive and passive. No wonder Xavier had left. He was nothing like them.

-When Xavier hi the target, Callahan hummed, ‘understandable, statistically he’d have to hit it eventually’ the trainer thought, gazing blankly at the initiates--Cedar huffed, dropping her gun barrel- “What time is it? When do we get finished?” -She asked (insert person close to her)-

William, Delilah, and Xavier kept shooting at the target. William and Xavier were doing better, but William's shots were more accurate.
Skyler kept watching the initiates, arms crossed like she had seen other Dauntless trainers in the past.
