Elevation - Stephen King

Elevation is a novella about a man who has a unusual condition. He keeps losing weight, no matter how much he eats, but his appearance remains the same. In fact, wearing clothes does not increase his weight, nor does holding dumbbells or other heavy objects. As he grapples with what will happen when his weight hits zero, he tries to make a difference in the life of his neighbors, a married lesbian couple that run a local restaurant. This was a nice, uplifting story. Some parts of the story are a bit simplistic and it is essential a white savior story which may rub some people the wrong way. Despite these issues, it was a nice story about how people can make a difference and use their privilege to help others. My edition also included a short story about a retired gentleman who gets a dog as a gift that was very sweet and earned it an extra 1/2 star from me - Lori was a very good dog.
