It’s an Urban Fiction that slowly burns into a Paranormal Romance with steamy adult activities in the second and third book. Besides the adult activities, it fits your inquiry to a perfect tee. You couldn’t find a better series. In fact, the leading character’s siblings (2) are all hiding their abilities.

I suggest reading the free sample pages before deciding. But this series is one of my top five favorites.

Melissa | 29 comments Hummingbird I just finished this book and it’s the first in a series. The main character has to hide her magic (at first she doesn’t know she has it) because only men are supposed to have magic and the city is controlled by male mages who are authoritarian. She is also mute, which is an interesting twist. I like Helen Harper and think she does really well with character development and plotting.

I also second the Ilona Andrews series.

BJ (barbararhodes) | 61 comments You might try Clean Sweep as the heroine is a great match for your request. Slow burn attraction, with lots of good action (no steam in this book, very little in others) - it's a standout book from Ilona Andrews. Their heroines are smart, practical and caring.

Kubra | 13 comments Wow just one? Sorry I seem unable to add the book link but try Firebird Chronicles by T. A White. The first book is Rules of Redemption
Oh good, Finally!
Here's a link for the first book in the series Rules of Redemption
Also for oldies but goodies, Psy Changeling Series Collection and A Kate Daniels Magic Series Collection

Cheesecake I love this series; Moon Called (Mercy Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs and it's sister series; Cry Wolf (Alpha & Omega, #1) by Patricia Briggs
A little less violent than Ilona Andrews but still has good action.
For Ilona Andrews, I actually prefer her 'edge' series; On the Edge (The Edge, #1) by Ilona Andrews

this book made me laugh Slouch Witch (The Lazy Girl's Guide to Magic, #1) by Helen Harper

I love this author for ghost stories; The Other Side of Midnight by Simone St. James

This takes place in kind of a dystopian future, although it's never really addressed Beguilement (The Sharing Knife, #1) by Lois McMaster Bujold .

These are ones I loved but maybe not the whole series...;
Yours, Mine and Howls (Werewolves in Love, #2) by Kinsey W. Holley Coveted by the Bear by T.S. Joyce Alexandra's Legacy (Legacy, #1) by N.J. Walters Tempted by Fire (Dragons of Bloodfire, #1) by Erin Kellison Raven's Gift (All The King's Men #10) by Donya Lynne

So many books to love!

Elissa Miller | 9 comments I really enjoyed this one, which is the first in a New Adult series (I've read it more than once now) and the second is out soon (this one's free on kindle unlimited right now, if you have that). Come Hunting

Also the first book in this series was interesting but I haven't read any more in the series yet The Inheritance Trilogy

Nina Wallem | 1 comments Hi, any recommendations on vampire pet books? I like books where the human don’t know about the vampire world, but it’s not a dealbreaker😊😇

K.F. Breene has a good series “Darkness” (9 books total):

Into the Darkness (Darkness, #1) by K.F. Breene Into the Darkness

The books get better with each additional book.

I also see you have read some Kresley Cole series Immortals After Dark books. I didn’t see the book Lothaire (Immortals After Dark, #11) by Kresley Cole Lothaire. It fits what you’re looking for.

Blood Laws (Immortal Curse #1) by Lexi C. Foss Blood Laws

This series might fit into what you’re looking for. Always read the sample pages.
