Hatchet by Gary Paulsen

I picked this book up because we read it with the tweens when I worked in the children's department. This books is great because it's about a boy who ends up in a plane crash and learns to survive on his own. The whole book captured my attention. I tried my best not to read ahead of us reading with the tweens. Surprises at every turn. People who like survivalists stories, heart-wrenching adventure and adapting to new surroundings will like this book. Other books I have read that are similar are Beacuse of Winn Dixie and the Outsiders.

Dark Fever by Karen Marie Moning

I picked this book up because I liked Karen Marie Moning's time travel series, so I thought I would like this one. This book is great because she is a good writer. She keeps you wanting more. I read this book pretty fast. I like supernatural and paranormal books. People who like supernatural, paranormal and working in a bookstore will like this book. Other books I've read that are similar are Dark Lover by J.R. Ward. 5 stars.
