The Midnight Readers discussion

Finished this book in a couple of day. It’s one of CH’s less liked novels. You either love it or you hate it. I’ve read so many mixed reviews on this and I just need to talk about it.

If you DNF, you likely don’t understand— the book doesn’t shed light on what’s happening until the last 2 chapters and it’s not predictable. I was ready to call it quits by the middle of the book but something told me to hold on and I’m glad I did. I think it’s brilliant.

Thoughts???

Okay, I didn't finish this. The beginning was super interesting and I got into it quickly. However, about a third of the way through, I felt like it was just not that gripping. I figured out it was a ghost story pretty quickly, buuuut I literally just looked up a full spoiler review and I definitely would NOT have figured all that out!

I think you're right about people loving or hating Colleen Hoover's books in general. I've only read two and thought they were both just fine.

Based on this comment now I'm kind of sad I didn't just keep reading and let myself be surprised!
