Heather Hunter | 3 comments Share the book that gutted your insides, ripped your heart in half and made you cry; the book that was so significant that you had an emotional hangover the day after you finished it.

I'll go first:

Reminders of Him by Colleen Hoover

I was finishing the audio version last night while walking my puppy in my neighborhood on the first night in weeks that the humidity had let up - inevitably inviting everyone I know and more out to walk as well - and I'm crying a LOT. It was awkward and confusing for my neighbors, I'm sure.

If I could live in Three Pines, I would move today. The Inspector Gamache series is so so so good, and must be read in order. Louise is so good at character building, they truly feel like your friends. This one ripped my heart out, stomped on it, and then filleted it. I was actually so mad I quit reading the series for a whole year before reading this one. I read it, and then had to read the next one to know if all came out somewhat well.

Highly recommend the Inspector Gamache series. They are billed as cozy mysteries, but they have a razor edge to them.

It was The Fault in Our Stars for me, especially when they’re all delivering their early eulogies. Even made my husband a blubbering mess!!

Brianne The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls

This book has a long standing of “my favorite book” for many reasons. Not only is it an emotional stirring book but one that has a story very similar to my own upbringing. It’s made me think, cry and laugh all in one. I’ve never seen the movie made after the book came out, I decided to just
Let this story and novel sit close to my mind and heart.

Katherine For me it was A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara. I don't think I've ever cried quite as much as when I was reading this book. It's VERY long and deals with a lot of really difficult subjects (to put it mildly), but it is so beautifully written.

Sarah Elizabeth (mrssnorthington) | 2 comments I love the Inspector Gamache series but haven't gotten to this one yet.

Vicki (vickimarie2002) | 2 comments My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult!

It was so tragic and shocking and gut wrenching. Do not watch the movie!! It's not the same as the book.

Antonia Robinson (lovefullys) | 1 comments It's going to sound so silly, but recently? It was the last Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants book, Sisterhood Everlasting. I started rereading the series earlier this year since talk of a 3rd movie picked up again, and I didn't remember it AT ALL and just bawled through 90% of it.

Ryann Paxson | 1 comments “Group” by Christie O. Tate. This book gives the raw reality of therapy and single-hood. I related to her memoir on so many levels. I even messaged Christie on Instagram to basically thank her for sharing her story. Lol. Surprisingly, she responded and here I am fan girling 😂
