Jenkyn orchestrates having Garrett attend the soiree at the home of Lord Tatham, the Home Secretary. It’s the same event he has Ethan attending. What was his purpose?

Jenkyn fancies himself as the master manipulator and Ethan and Garrett were just two more pieces he was manipulating.

I thought he put Ethan on notice that Garrett was now in his sights and he controls him going forward. He seemed to take pleasure in this.

Jenkyn wanted Ethan to know that he knew something that Ethan had taken great pains to keep hidden: his relationship to Garrett.

He was almost gleeful about it.

Totally agree with you guys. He was telling Ethan that he knew about his relationship with Garrett and he could use her against him if he wanted.

Again, I agree. He wanted to make it clear to Ethan that he could strike back at him through Garrett. It was a way to manipulate him and keep Ethan on a short chain.

This was a miscalculation on Jenkyn’s part. He thought this would scare him into obedience. It did the exact opposite.

I agree too. Jenkyn thought this would keep Ethan in line.
