What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

This has been bugging me for YEARS -- I read this from my local library WAY back when I was just an Itty bitty preteen. It was in the YA section not a too thick novel.
It followed more than one individual throughout the story (the female elf, a female human and her "outsider" friend/crush a male elf, a troll/orc colony (?), and I believe one other. All the characters stories eventually meet up.
What I remember is that she is in her little chamber right before her wedding and, I can't remember for what reason (he's a narcissist, horrible person, or what) does absolutely NOT wish to get married (I think it was a political marriage). So, she breaks her mirror (or something) and cuts her face multiple times -- beauty is everything in the eyes of elves apparently and, if she makes herself disfigured, then she will be too ugly to wed. The attendant enters and freaks out.
What I remember later is that the a troll/orc/"beast" kidnaps (??? Saves???) Her and while she's unconscious, heals her scars (thinking he's doing her a favor, buts obviously she is less then thrilled and terrified that he's going to force her to marry, etc).
Those two dorks fall into interspecies love and I THINK get bonded near the end??? (And POSSIBLY tested for magic??????)

I might have found it anyway - The Hollow Kingdom trilogy by Clare B. Dunkle? The first book is also called The Hollow Kingdom.
