JLPA-MP Book Club discussion

Thanks for picking this book! It’s such a lovely story. I liked the Guncle relationship with the kids and all the funny rules - can’t remember them all. The kids are cute, and Palm Springs feel like very well featured, I want to visit again!

I also liked how the story is about grieving, not too restrained and not overly dramatic. The one part I liked was not having to say that you are thankful, or happy because that’ll be fake, and contrasting with how you really feel.

I actually wish I’d know more about Clara. Though she’s a side character, what she experienced seems significant enough that I wish they spend a bit more time on how the siblings might support one another…
