August Romance Listening

I'm listening to Fatal Secrets - I'm never sure whether to classify this as romance or non-romance as the books lean more to the suspense yet there is a romance.
I’m listening to How to Howl at the Moon by Eli Easton and it’s really cute so far.. my first dog shifter book..
Jonetta wrote: "It’s categorized and shelved by most of the readers as romantic suspense so it belongs here."Thanks Jonetta
I finished listening to Darius by J.R. Ward, Black Dagger Brotherhood #.5, and we finally get his story! my review
I have finished Thank You for Listening and re-listened to The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie. Thank You for Listening was really good! I gave it 4 stars. I would have liked more smut, lol!
And of course The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie was a great re-listen. I forget how many times I've listened to this book, Goodreads says only twice, but I think it's been more times than that!
This book was wonderfully smutty, just what I was craving.
I finished listening to Devil's Daughter by Lisa Kleypas, The Ravenels #5, and loved West’s story and reconnecting with the Wallflowers. my review
I’m listening to Long Past Summer by Noué Kirwan.
As soon as I finished
Storm Echo
I started re-reading
Last Guard
which took on more meaning with the information about Canto in Storm Echo
I'm listening to
. It has been a while since I last read an installment in the series and decided to try the audio. I am enjoying Cris Dukehart's narration. She does a southern accent well.
I really like Dukeheart’s performances. Her early works, though, may have some quirky versions for some of the males. She later stopped doing it.

Her male voices aren't as deep as some other female narrators but they are ok and definitely sound masculine, which is not always the case with other narrators.
She did something really strange in the first book of the Scarlet Falls series (2014). By the third book, she’d stopped.

I finished listening to Long Past Summer by Noué Kirwan and enjoyed the story but the narrator was a miss.my review
I’m listening to Becoming Family by Elysia Whisler, Dogwood County #3.
I finished listening to Becoming Family by Elysia Whisler, Dogwood County #3, and was charmed by this story. my review
Just finished Sweetheart by Sarah Mayberry and absolutely loved it. Aiden Snow's dual narration was a major part of the enjoyment 😉 Virginia Rose was the other narrator and did a fine job. It's a lighthearted read but with the tough subject matter of mental illness. I related to Haley's life with a mentally ill sister (although my sister isn't nearly as volatile as hers was.) It was my first Sarah Mayberry book too. I'm seeking out more by her and more books narrated by Aiden Snow as well. 🥰
Thanks for that feedback, Christina. I’ve a couple of her books on my shelf but haven’t read anything yet.
I finished listening to Grace Under Fire by Julie Garwood, Buchanan-Renard #14, and loved the mystery but the romance was a fail. my review
I’m listening to Hot Target by Suzanne Brockmann, Troubleshooters #8.
I am currently listening to the
Until Tomorrow Comes which is book one of the "Beauty in Lies" series by Adelaide Forrest. It's a mafia romance - not the best but it's okay. Before that I listened to the
The Jack & Jill Series by Jewel E. Ann - which was great and I'm not sure why I'd never gotten into it before.
I have deep in a comfort relisten of the Hurley Bro series by Lauren Dane:
The Best Kind of Trouble
Broken Open
Back to You
I really liked this series about group of brothers who are a famous rock band but who are also go back and help on their family farm!
I finished listening to Hot Target by Suzanne Brockmann, Troubleshooters #8, and loved it more the second time around. my review
I'm listening to
The Songbook of Benny Lament by Amy Harmon. The reviews are high for this book, I hope it holds up.** Available through Kindle Unlimited as a read or listen.
Best new listen of August (tie)
Ruby Fever
Loved it and look forward to more in the future but this is great finish to trilogy with this sister. Can't say much more without risking spoilers. I found the conclusion very satisfying.
Storm Echo
I listened to it. Then listened to previous books with Ivan and family then listened to it again. Then read ebook. Yeah, I really like it.
Most disappointing
Beg, Borrow or Steal
Most liked this and it had potential but for me it was too much. She's med student. He's doctor supervisor. Of course they are both outstandingly gorgeous. She's poor from poor family and strips to have money for school and to raise her daughter with more than she can really afford. He's rich from a rich family. Her daughter was probably supposed to provide humor but there were too many scenes of her getting her way. Same couple issues again and again. Audio is just over 10 hours and by about halfway I wished I could switch to ebook and start skimming. Secondary characters are in the next book but it's as long as this one so despite the female character being interesting I think I'll pass.
ETA: 10 hours is not a long audio for me. This one just seemed long.
