Here are some of my favorite women dramatists.
Sarah Ruhl has written some good plays and one excellent one imo: In the Next Room, or the Vibrator Play. For reasons of transparency, this play could be rated R-17.
Lorraine Hansberry wrote A Raisin in the Sun which has been made into at least into 2 movies.

I also have read three plays of Wendy Wasserstein who among other plays wrote The Heidi Chronicles which was made into a movie at least once shortly after written. Written in 1989. . . . I know a remake was cast in then last few years.
Also on my sometime list is Oroonoko by Aphra Behn.

I finally found one book, The Pocket Book of Modern American Plays(1942), edited by Bennett Cerf (which I may need to make a page for in Goodreads this week after I double and triple check that it is not already in Goodreads). It has a play, Margin for Error, written by Clare Boothe. Till I find my bigger anthologies of plays again, that may be it for my current book collection right now for this prompt.
