When Edward continues to delay turning over the estate ledgers to Phoebe (for months), was it reasonable to be suspicious or could he have just believed it wasn’t work for a woman? What did you think in this moment?

I was suspicious. Even though Edward was a misogynist, if he were on the up and up, he would have brought the books and talked down to Phoebe.

Either way, I am not a fan.

It was definitely suspicious. Edward may have truly believed that it wasn't work for a woman, but if there was nothing wrong with the books, he would have had nothing to hid.

Yes, it was suspicious. He was clearly covering something up he didn't want her to see.

I was more than suspicious, downright sure something was up. Once he agreed to give her the books and then didn’t, that was an alarm bell.
