well - I have only just started ya books but I really enjoyed a court of thorns and roses series by Sarah J Maas - I would say that this is for people who like high-fantasy and romance since it is quite spicy in some points. That is a 5 book series.I am currently reading the throne of glass series by Sarah J Maas its really good and also quite long. That is also high-fantasy but less romance until the 6th book where it increases slightly. This is an 8 book series.
I would also recommend the Hobbit book by J R R Tolkein - it was a lovely world to escape in. I haven't read lotr yet but I will soon.
I hope this helps :) sorry its all kind of fantasy but thats all I've read for young adult books.

Absolutely recommend the Stalking Jack the Ripper series by Kerri Maniscalco. Thomas Cresswell has my heart. It’s a YA historical fiction series. They are based on real cases and in real places, just different endings. (EX: we find out who Jack the Ripper is 👀) The settings are insane, the characters are written beautifully, and oh how I wish I could be Audrey Rose.
i second the throne of glass series its amazing! my other fav books that i always recommend are the seven husbands of evelyn hugo and the song of achilles. the song of achilles is probably the most known book that involves mythology so if you like mythology its amazing a long with circe which is a long book but amazing!
cruel prince series is why i love the scary and intimidating male characters in books soo <3 there's that. the story itself is j really good and the imagery- chefs kiss and tres boni'll give you the sun by jandy nelson is a book i'll ALWAYS recommend, i loved it soo much. lots of crying w/that one
the night circus was gorgeous, the imagery was amazing and it was comforting to read. i have more but as of right now this is it <3
